Casual Statement

Simple outfit - simple post. Let's keep it short and sweet. Sometimes one single eye-catching piece is enough to impress. In my case I think that one necklace and one picture do the trick. Impressed..?

The Wardrobe's Basic Space

They say the most difficult thing is to find the perfectly fitting jeans. And I must admit, it's not easy indeed but for me, there's another hard nut to crack - finding the perfect crisp white t-shirt.
Can there be more casual chic than in the combination of a pair of (perfectly fitting, of course) jeans and a plain white shirt? No. Exactly.
However, the white shirt issue is a tricky one. You think the shirt is perfect, it will make you look like the queen of casual chic and then you try it on and oh nooo - it's see through. Again. I have nothing against see-through blouses and see-though shirts but my idea of a classic crisp white t-shirt doesn't involve any of that.

The key to the problem? Invest. Believe me, I tried on almost every white shirt the high street has to offer and sadly, the less money you're willing to pay, the more see-through you are going to get.

So, as hard as you will find it to spend quite a lot of money in a small piece of cloth such as the classic T by Alexander Wang shirt on the left (here) or the V-neck form Velvet (here) on the right, I can assure you this investment will be worth it. No see-through + perfect fit = happy wardrobe = happy you.

Compared to the t-shirt blanc, the strategy for the colourful shirts in the middle is easy peasy and if I want to find a great grey shirt (here), I either look into my boyfriend's wardrobe (a see-through free zone) or I go to COS, my personal Mekka for pastel t-shirts. And if you happen to have some money over to invest in a colourful shirt as well, go for the beautiful pastel pink one (here) and fall in love with it's silk and linen material mix.

Kate Bosworth x Topshop Festival Collection

I'm usually not that much into "star-style" as most of the A-list's outfits are the outcome of a talented stylist's work, noone gets to see. However, there's this one actress whose style I simply adore - Kate Bosworth, the beautiful girl in the amazing pictures for Topshop above.

She recently teamed up with the British high street label again and together they launched the Topshop Festival Collection that's inspired by her boho-chic. Style one and two are clearly my favorites and I think Ms. Bosworth is definitely the reason for my next purchase at Topshop.

The Fashion Apartment Lightens Up

As the fashion apartment moved to Berlin in April, interior and decoration is a big topic at the moment. As much as I love nice furniture, prints and all kinds of decoration - my real passion are lamps.

The right lighting can change the whole atmosphere of a room and for me there's nothing worse than really bright fluorescent light (as you often find in hospitals and unfortunately in a lot of households, too). It just gives me headaches and immediately sets me in a bad mood.

However - the right light is only complete if it's surrounded by a really nice lamp. Those four beauties above are my absolute favourites and I think they suit the fashion apartment quite well.

so I hope one or two of them will find there way to my Berlin home and brighten up the lounge, the dressing table and the wardrobe very soon.

You can find them here, here, here and here !

Hello Tiger

Shirt: Kenzo // Blazer: Milkaya Laijah // Jeans: Mango // Bag: Michael Kors // Boots: Office

Quality, not quantity, that's something I've heard a lot these days. No matter if I talk to my friends or if i read it on blogs, it's clear that more and more of us tend to avoid tons of high street purchases but rather invest our money in high quality pieces.

But as you can see in my outfit above, high street and high end get on really well so why ban Mango, H&M and Zara from our wardrobes if we know anyway that this is impossibly?

For me and I'm sure for a lot of you too, mix and match is definitely the key and usually does the trick. There's nothing more awful than a total designer look and nothing more wonderful than a well combined high street meets high end outfit, n'est-ce pas?

In(stagram) love with my flat.

The Berlin flat and I have been sharing a roof for one month now and i must say that I am so happy I found you, my beloved little place. You offer enough room to all of my small and not so small possessions, both colours and minimalsitic design suit you well, you're bright, you're warm, you're old in a charming way and you're so nice that even the cherry trees and birds in the garden prefer to be as close as possible to you.

You're the perfect place because not only I but also my friends love to hang out with you and therefor I am more than happy to stay with you for a while.

Let's walk.

Shirt: Promod // Skirt: Aubin & Wills / Shoes: noname // Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Oh hello sun. I didn't even know you existed in Berlin but apparently you were just hiding really well during the past weeks. I am still a little sceptical as you can see on my expression in these pics above. Good job I put on those black tights this morning as I started raining only a couple of hours after this sunny photo session. Anyway, it seems that Berlin summer is not far away and there will be no need to cover up our legs anymore. Can't wait!
